Sucrose Flow Meter Request
I have firstly an application to measure
and batch sucrose solution. Pipe is ¾”, flow rate would be approximately 30-50
l/min maximum
Sucrose is at 67 Brix, hence sucrose is concentrated. Flow sensor Temperature is ambient. Viscosity is to be confirmed but appears not very viscous, estimated to be around 50 cP. Medium Density is around 1.32 kg/l
1/ Can we measure this with a Mag flow meter, I am unsure whether sucrose solution is conductive?
If not conductive, I expect we will need to use Coriolis meter or oval gear meter?
2/ Please quote for 20mm small coriolis mass flow meter, 24Vdc powered, pulse and analogue output,Triclover process connections, 20mm size (customer will reduce flow to suit the meter) Pressure is low, < 1barg
Secondly,
For another application I have quoted a small mag flow meter for batching Fruit pulp at 85 degC. Product is very conductive, and has a consistency like tomato sauce (or ketchup) Viscosity is likely to be high (over 100cP), hence I would like the option for quote mass flow meter as an alternative.
Pipe is to be confirmed however likely to be DN10. Batches will be 300ml each, peak flow during batching would be approximately 0.25 tonne/hr. hence a DN10 mass flow meter appears suitable.
3/ Please quote for DN10 mass flow meter to suit low pressure (< 2barg), 24 Vdc powered, tri-clover process connections, pulse and 4-20mA output
-I will confirm application detail later however for now I would like to obtain pricing as soon as possible
Finally,
I notice the new data sheet shows 2 styles of mass flow meter. I assume the “bent” type is for low pressure applications?
-Please explain the difference between the two styles and advise if there is much difference in the price?
Is it possible to get a price list for the mass flow meter range?
Solution to Sucrose and Fruip Pulp Flow Measurement
For application 1/ , the flow range is large , and you should choose DN25 size mass flow meter. However your customers say they will reduce the flow to suit the flow meter size, so see below model selection for coriolis mass flow meters. We do not think magnetic flow meter can work for your tough application.

Another point: bent type mass flow sensor is for high pressure medium application, and for your case, you do not need bent type coriolis mass flowmeter.
