What is PD flow meter ?

A Positive displacement flowmeter is a flow metering instrument that directly measures the clean liquid total flow rate by periodically filling and discharging the fluid volume in a precision measuring chamber. It is mainly used to measure clean liquid such as diesel, fuel, crude oil, lubricants, chemical raw materials, and food grade fluids, especially suitable for situations where liquid measurement accuracy is strictly required.

Its core advantage lies in high measurement accuracy (0.2% ~0.5%), unaffected by changes in fluid viscosity, and no need for upstream and downstream straight pipe sections during installation.

Why we need pulse output positive displacement flow meter ?

Traditional PD flow meters often use mechanical pointer to display cumulative flow. With the increasing demand for automation, pulse output positive displacement flow meters have emerged. Its advantage lies in the real-time conversion of flow signals into electrical pulse signals (such as PNP or NPN pulse), which facilitates integration with control systems such as PLC and DCS, enabling remote data transmission, instantaneous flow calculation, batch control, and automated management, greatly improving the intelligence level and control efficiency of process industries.
