displacement flowmeter, used for precise continuous or intermittent flow measurement
of liquid in the pipeline. It is especially suitable for petrol,fuel oil, heavy oil, polyvinyl
alcohol, diesel, asphalt, resin and other high viscosity fluids. Oval gear
flowmeter is a kind of mechanical flowmeter ,or it can equip with electronic display
or digital transmitter. It has different material options: cast iron, cast
steel , stainless steel 304 or stainless 316 for different applications.

How to
install and operate oval gear flow meter properly?
√ Put a strainer in front of the oval gear flow meter,
making sure that the flow direction arrows on both the strainer and the flow
sensor body point in the same direction as the fluid flow.
√ If the fluid has gas in it, put a gas separator in front of the meter.
√ No matter how the pipeline is set up, the wheel shaft must be level and the
dial must be looking straight up when the meter is fitted.
√ Once everything is set up correctly, you can turn the counter 180° or 90° to
make it easier to read.
√ Before you attach it, use a soft rod to turn the oval gears by hand a few times
through the outlet. If you can't move the meter, put it in gasoline to get rid
of any probable manufacture leftovers.
√ Put a throttle valve at the entrance and a shut-off valve at the exit. To avoid
unexpected pressure spikes, reverse flow, or water hammer, always open and
close valves slowly.
√ You should never use steam to clean the oval gear flow meter.
√ Put in a bypass line for applications that need to run all the time.
√ Clean the piping well before putting in the meter. Use a spool piece instead of
the meter while cleaning to keep welding slag and other debris from getting
into the meter.
√ Do not use water to measure the pressure on cast iron or carbon steel meters.
√ Do not go beyond the maximum flow rate shown on the nameplate while the machine
is running. Keep the flow between 50% and 80% of the maximum for best results.
√ If the media is corrosive, use a stainless steel oval gear flow meter. √ Look

How to Choose the Best Oval Gear Flow Meter
There are three main steps to choosing the best oval gear flow meter.
First, figure out what kind of fluid it is. For example, say whether it is corrosive or has a high viscosity. This tells you what the flow sensor is made of and if you require a high-viscosity flow meter. It's important to remember that fluids with abrasive particles are not safe to use oval gear flow meters.
Second, think about the size of the pipeline and the variety of flow rates. Pick a oval gear flow meter size that fits the diameter of your pipe. You may need to change the size of the flow if it is too high or too low.
Lastly, say what kind of output you need, like a local register, a mechanical reset, or electronic signals like pulse/4-20mA/Modbus RTU/Hart.
